Yes, indeed it was fun! Greetings dear friends, I hope that this lovely Monday is treating you well. I'm still recovering from my time at Cominichi's. The book signing went well. I sold more of my older books than I expected and many of my newer ones.
Cominichi's is owned by Gina Comin, a kindred spirit, who is in my museum of collectible personalities. Her store sells mostly vintage clothes, furniture, objets d'art and other treasures. Of course, it's one of my favorite boutiques and I've shopped there for years. When I walk through the front door, I feel as if I'm somewhere in the French Quarter. Music and incense waft through the air.

Yesterday, the husband cooked shrimp and okra gumbo and I fixed one of my own recipes, cornyambread. There were also many other treats as well as wine and cider. We picked loads of good blues music to further enhance the creative atmosphere. Several old friends came by which thrilled me.
me.
This was my fourth book signing since the new book, Sunday Mornings, Crowning Glories, came out in September. Yes, I've been busy in my own mellow way. Thanks for visiting and I wish each of you could have been there! Salud

Your friend Gina's get-up transported me right back to 1969. My sorta-girlfriend Debbie wore something very like that to the Janis Joplin concert we went to at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD.
I'm glad to see the book got a proper welcome into the world!
Miz Beryl...I dropped you a line and for those of you who are wondering - www.bayoutales.com is my website - also, you can order through Books Along the Teche in New Iberia, La. or Fad Newstand, in Franklin, La. I will sign them if you order with paypal through website - of course...
If you have problems with paypal, I'll take a check.
Doc, thanks!!! yes, very cute.
Lisa - I am totally into wishing I had a daughter between 19 - 29!!!
Richard, I am hoping Gina is reading these posts - she'll appreciate this comment!
Hey boo boo - nice to see you! Thanks Marianne!
Katrina, I was eye-balling a few things I would love to have - esp a beaded dress for a thing I'm doing in Nawlins in the future.
Roy, yes, gumbo my friend - so you like gumbo? Ok well, I need to teach you how to fix it yourself then.
Do you want a recipe or two?
Thank you Michael...
Kay, I added yams and raisens - it was good!
Thank you Doc - good to see you!
Melinda - you can make it yourself - it just takes patience to make the roux - you can make it blonde but to me the best is the dark brunette roux - just don't burn it
Jessie - I was thrilled to be featured in Bookwomen and have told all my friends to go there!!!
Thank you.
More later folks...blessings for visiting me in this post...Salud
Rob, there are so many sights on how to self-publish - as far as writing - I think you already have written a book - you just need to put it in the right format and the process is as important as a dusty finished book sitting on a shelf. It's the journey, not the destination!
Ellie - would have been great to see you and your girls!
Thank you for stopping by Marianne...
J - yes, it was fun - I enjoyed it all!!!
more later. thank you all. Salud
Un beso desde Granada.
I am sorry that I missed it, but I seldom get down to Santa Barbara. (goofy, because it is just a hop, skip, and jump away) I will keep my eyes open for your next signing.
May God bless.
This year, instead of a Christmas Combo, magi, faith carolyn and yours truly are celebrating Boxing Day....a little bit of pugilism on the day after Christmas.
thanks for sharing with us.
I will work on her getting off of the red meat, but her roommate cooks for her and he's an old timer who's a strong believer in meat at every meal. Many of the meals are fatty meats, but he don't want to understand.
i'm glad to see you enjoying your life... Blessings to you my friend...
Happy Holidays... Salud...
