A few days ago a huge box appeared on our doorstep. I was at work at the time. My husband called and asked me if I had ordered anything to be delivered from UPS and I told him I hadn't. He said, "Well, I accepted the package because it had your name on it." He also wouldn't tell me what it was, but that I was going to be one happy lady when I got home and saw what it was.

It was a brand spanking new HOOVER vacuum. I was screaming and carrying on. I have needed a vaccum for a while. I've been dragging the one from work back and forth every week. My daughter was even excited about the new vacuum.

I got a phone call from my brother later that evening and he said he found a good deal on one at Best Buy and he just went ahead and had it delivered for my Christmas gift. He called to ask me if I recieved a box and that I wasn't to open it until Christmas. I said, "Mick, I can see what it is on the outside of the box." I don't think that was supposed to happen. But at any rate, we have already opened the vacuum and I have used it every day since. It is self propelled so it just glides across the floor as I vacuum up cracker crumbs and old cheerio parts. I feel sort of like Cinderella.

I just wanted to share my good news with everybody. I wanted to scream and yell. My husband just didn't understand what the big excitement was about a new vacuum. Now I know those of you out there that are neat freaks will understand my excitement. Santa is real. He just lives in downtown Chicago is all. My baby brother is a gem.
