It Hurt to Walk the Dog Tonight

It is so bitterly cold, and the wind is just blowing like crazy!
I was bundled up really good too, but the cold, cold air hurt my lungs.

Poor Lucky, she didn't get to be buddled up like me, poor girl with just her fur on. I felt sorry for her. Me, I had my sweater on with a tank top underneath, a scarf on, a zippered fleece coat on & my winter coat. Plus my ear muff/scarf thing, & gloves. We rushed out, Lucky went pee very fast, but she is determined to only poop in this certain area...so we made it there in record speed & she did her business super fast as well!

All I can say is please Orlando/Bahamas trip....come fast! I do leave on Wednesday, and I am looking forward to the warm weather!
Although, here the weather will be 50 on Wednesday - so we will warm up....thankfully!

So usually after she does her business, we will jog back to the house. Tonight I wanted to run, so we did....but I paid the price - the cold air just HURT my lungs! It took me about 5 minutes to feel better & my lungs still feel funny & I cough once in awhile. Such cold air!

Bitter and windy and cold! So just about the same as yours... I am staying bundled up inside. Luckily, we have a fenced yard and the dog can just go out, do his business and come in quick. I don't want to be outside tonight!

it is freezing cold here, the sun was out for a little this afternoon and it warmed up quickly, but after about 30 minutes of nice sun, the wind started blowing really bad. so not to nice here

It's pretty cold here in the South. Going into the 20s at night and only the mid 40s during the day is colder than I like for this time of year here.

I forget this coldness is so new to you, Priscilla! My advice from many years in NH - always wear a Cuddleduds long sleeved undershirt. Always. Under the other three layers - it helps. Always wear a long scarf so you can wind it over your nose and mouth - so you can breathe without getting weather-related asthma. Always wear a hat. If you have good snow boots, you can get away with any sock, but if you don't have good boots, wear cashmere or wool socks.
I'm sorry you had such a rude awakening! Stay warm!
Katrina, actually I was raised in Minnesota, so the weather is not new, but for the past couple of winters we were in Texas. Usually we have a fenced in yard & we can let the dogs out to do their business.
Here we have to take Lucky out for a walk twice a day to do her business. Josie runs outside & goes really fast & runs back in!

I forgot that, Priscilla! However, it took years for me to figure out how not to get asthma here, so I thought I'd pass it along. It's only when the windchill gets below -oh, 10 below, that I have serious problems. Poor puppy! My dogs didn't mind snow, but when it got really cold, they got ice clumps between their toes. Ouch!

Wow, it sure sounds cold Priscilla! It is amazing how fast our bodies get used to the heat.

Good news, South Florida has warmed up a little bit. You were going to Hollywood too, right?
Katrina, I had never experienced that cold lungs feeling before - maybe because I normally do not start running when it is freezing out!
I will have to look into those shirts you mentioned~

JR, We board the ship to Bahamas from Hollywood I believe.
Looks like it might rain in the Bahamas......

Just checked the weather here...it's 15 degrees F...but feels like -10 with the wind. Brrrrrr I knew I was freezing taking Fritz out to do his business. Ick ick ick...I hate this cold weather.

It's been in the 50's here. Cold in the mornings but warming up. Today its suppose to hit 68 but I'm sure you don't want to hear that.
I miss the cold weather/snow. I'll trade you spots.

It's been pretty nice here - I really can't complain - I am very well prepared for cold weather because we have a place in Eureka, Nevada 6500 feet up and yes, it gets arctic cold there...so I wear UGGS, thermal underwear, a fleece coat down to my ankles, a fleece gortex scarf and hat - yea, girl, I keep really warm and look like a polarbear -here, just a light jacket is all that's needed....

Someone needs to explain to me while everyone doesn't wear hats in cold weather - I even wear crochet caps to sleep in at night - ones head should be kept warm and yet I see folks hatless in ultra cold weather - it doesn't make sense to me! Salud
