Christmas Ornaments- Homemade

I pulled out stuff for the kids to make some ornaments today. They had felt, pipe cleaners, pom poms, sequins, beads, and jingle bells to work with. Here are a few of the ornaments they made tonight!

Your mad dash to Wal Mart gave them the chance to be creative.
Thanks! I did a few of them, but the kids are having a lot of fun. I think I'm almost out of pipe cleaners, but Rae & Chris have recently started twisting them all together. At least they're cheap! I think before Christmas, I'll spend $5 or $10 at Dollar Tree replenishing my supplies, so they have projects to keep busy with the week before Christmas. The kids don't have school at all the week of Christmas.

I'm thinking a lot of white beads and clear beads with white or silver pipe cleaners would make good snow flakes!
Raegan made a pink Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon to hang on the tree, as well as a red and green "Christmas Awareness" ribbon. There's also a purple and white one that I made to honor my cousin Kelly & her battle with Leiomyosarcoma. The ribbons for that are purple.

Beautiful! I have lots of ornaments on my tree that my children made when they were small. I always enjoy reminiscing each year as we hang them on the tree.

They have done an awesome job!!

I am crocheting some Christmas tree decorations - so the cats won't be able to break them, lol!

My kids always enjoyed making homemade ornaments. One year I made salt dough and we had a blast making the ornaments. I still have my sons' hand prints that were made out of the dough. The ornaments are now 23 years old!
Great to go on the tree & to send to loved-ones as well!

They did a great job with the ornaments! I think the homemade ones are the best. I have one whole tree decorated with nothing but homemade ornaments, a lot done by my children (now ages 34 and 36) and my nieces and nephews. Putting them out each year brings back such special memories......I'm sure your children will look back on this time with fond memories!

We love to make our own ornaments. We never made ones like these together, they are really so pretty - what a good job! I will have to run to Dollar Tree to get some stuff :)

Dollar stores have so many fun things- assorted beads, pipe cleaners, and what not. It's a great place to start your crafts!

Walmart isn't bad, either, the items tend to be a bit more, but they are usually much larger packages, too.

Wow it looks like they had a blast! I love the way that homemade decorations look on the tree. We were at my parents house yesterday and they had some up that I made when I was in elementary school and they were just too cute.
