Every year there is an event called "Winter Wonderland" put on locally just for the little ones. This is the first year we have attended. My husband and I took our kids to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. The kids all got free cookies and milk. Each of them got a present from Santa which was a coloring book and a box of crayons. There was even singing by a local childrens choir.

My daughter was extremely excited all day waiting to go and see Santa. Daddy gave her a ride on his shoulders into the building. Every time we asked our son if he wanted to go see Santa, he would shake his head and say, "NO." We didn't push the issue. He enjoyed seeing Santa from afar and getting his cookies and gifts without getting anywhere near that big bearded furry red/white guy.

When it was Maddie's turn, I thought she would chicken out. She surprised me. She just marched up to that sleigh like she had business to take care of. It was the cutest thing ever. I was able to get a couple of photos too.

I also got this photo of Mrs. Claus. I think at this point, Santa had been seeing kids already for going on two hours straight, and there was still a LONG line behind us. Santa looks like he is about ready to get out of that suit and put his feet up at the north pole with a cold one, doesn't he??

We haven't gone yet this year. I'm hoping we can go next weekend. Last year, we went during the week to help cut back on crowds, but we lived just down the road from a mall. This year, we're 20 minutes away, so a school night isn't the most practical, unless I take them by myself right when they get out of school.
Great photos
Aidan is only 2 1/2 and he doesn't want anything to do with him.
(I'm coming over to check you out at Beth's suggestion.)
My youngest grandson didn't like Santa until last year.
I was worried that my daughter wouldn't want to sit on Santas lap this year. She was excited to go see him but I still worried she would freak out when we got there. She did fine though, altho she had fallen asleep in the car on the way so she was a little cranky and wouldn't smile for any pictures.
