It will take some thinking outside the box to revive this country! Anything the new administration can come up with to put folks back to work and repair our own sorry infrastructure better be approved PRONTO!

I hope this happens. We certainly could use some improvements on our transportation infrastructure. We need to prevent loss of life. I applaud this idea and hope it works.

I certainly would like to see something help our people. Too many are without jobs, and so many are going hungry its unreal.

I keep saying there are so many projects that would greatly enhance our lives and prosperity that don't get done because no one is organizing the people to work and get paid. Here we have an opportunity to create real value.

We'll see how things work out. Things seem so unreal today with all of the job losses and bailout plans for big companies. I do hope that Obama is successful in turning these things around. Hopefully, Congress will cooperate.

what about wpa projects? it wasn't just highways and roadwork that was done.
maybe more programs like city year, upward bound, americorps....

I think its a great idea. Helps with getting people back to work, and when we(lower and middle class income) go to work, we end up spending more than saving...just because we have less to save(if I'm making $100 and your making $1000 and we both save 10%, mines just gonna be less....).

Hello everyone, I'm Rev. gene and I have been reading the coments. Now I don't want to spoil all ths enthusiasm for this project. It is my contention that we look at yesterday, to see tomorrow. To duplicate yesterday will give you the same results again tomorrow. Takng the wisdom of yesterday and the ingenuity and technology of today to create a self sustaing slution to a current problem is the goal we should attempt to acheive. Why should we build to destroy.I mean to create something that will sustain mankind for another hundred years and destroy the envioroment. I hope I am explaining myself. Let me cut it short. The work progress administration of 1935 lasted 8 years. The war had men and women working. Ike put his plan into action and we were going full speed. We prospered so much, that we did not need each other any more. We reached a point that we felt our work was inferior to other countries. We bought their junk and destroyed our economy, our work force, our place as a leader in all industries. The small farmer fell to the mega farm who grew greed. Eletronic and robot instead of people. Quanity instead of quality. We allowed others to sell us our own inadequacies. We sent our jobs away not knowing sooner or later all of our income would be going out. we did not see ourselves heading backwards. We passed out money instead of work.We created a generation of greedy and needy individualist. We should not make the same mistake again.We can make positive improvement that will repay the goverment as well as the people as we all work to restore our rightful place as a leader. This is one eye opening situation that will squeeze the lemon into sweet lemonade. Let's hope our president elect will listen and allow the people to send proposal for our own future. Raging rivers, piles of garbage, droughts and desert lands combined equals work,energy, and perpetual income. More to come soon.
