Dear Animal Loving Friends,
I've been doing some planning for Patches' Pet Pals to figure out exactly how to get medical assistance for animals. In the beginning, I was planning to create a volunteer network but the more I've thought about it, the more I think that volunteers are too unreliable and sometimes too over zealous. So, I've come up with a plan to help animals one city at a time beginning in Los Angeles. What I want to do is raise the money to get a van and equip it as a mobile vet clinic.
What I want to do is sell items through my online store with animal pics on a variety of items. Eventually, I want to have other items available as well that are a bit more unique but for now, I have to do what is cost free for myself for right now. For every item someone purchases, the profits will go into a savings account until I have the funds to buy the van, equipment and hire a vet and assistant to provide the service.
Eventually, I want to set up low cost clinics around the country in addition to the vans. That way people who can afford to pay the low cost fees will do so and the profit we make from that will cover the cost of medical attention for animals with owners who can't afford to pay.
I will be posting information about the website in the Patches' Pet Pal group if you are interested in knowing more. I don't want to be accused of spam but I do want people to know how they can help if they want to do so.
Anyway, that is about all for now. I just wanted to send out an update and if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
