O.J. Simpson speaks at his sentencing hearing at the Clark County Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas today. Reporting from Las Vegas and Los Angeles - Despite a tearful plea for leniency from O.J. Simpson, a Las Vegas judge today sentenced him to 16 years in prison for the kidnapping and robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers.

Simpson would be eligible for parole in nine years under the sentence handed down by Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass.

Before he was sentenced, Simpson apologized to Glass for his conduct.

"In no way did I mean to hurt anybody, to steal anything from anybody," the former NFL star said. "I just wanted my personal things."

Its about time that this man was held accountable for something. He seems to get away with murder. Pun intended.

Well, I'm sorry, but despite our 'wonderful' judicial system, I've still had my doubts about the murder of his wife. Only God knows if he really did it or not, but now he's obviously been involved in other criminal activities, and it's finally catching up with him. What I really hope for O.J. is that he comes to the end of his rope (not literally!), and looks up to see that God is there waiting to forgive him and set him free. That's the best thing that could possibly happen, and I wish and pray that for this man.

Still not justice. But maybe he will die in prison where he has long belonged.
You know what, I glad that man is finally behind bars. He truely thought he could get away with anything didn't he? To bad he wasn't getting more time. But I do pray justice will be served while he is in prison.

semi-apology for a "generic" reply ~ however, I opened my gather emails to find over 2000 new emails of friends postings over the past five days with only one hour to reply ~ therefore, am doing the proverbial driveby and giving a ten rating of course ~ and, on a personal note, I only need 174 points to cash out ~ so hopefully this will be a win situation for you AND me ~ I do appreciate all of my gather friends and wish I had the time to be more thorough, but……..a DB 10 AND a pinky to ya is my offer for the day ~ smiles ~j

I know that everyone has different views on this, but personally I am glad he is behind bars.
