The juice just got squeezed.

O.J. Simpson received 15 years for his crimes in Nevada.

The sad story of a football hero turned killer and now this is about over.

There is not much more to add to his story.

He will be by himself in a cell for a long time.

He got away with murder, but he did not get away this time.

In a way, this is for Ron and Nicole.

Bye O.J.

You won't be missed.

Well finally he will actually have to pay for a crime he committed. They only thing that I would change about what you wrote George is that he may have played football and succeded in it but he was never a hero. At least not in my eyes. I save that word for people who do good for others like soldiers, police officers, firefighters and even regular Joes who go above and beyond to help another.

Why, on one channel, did they say 7 or so years was what O.J. got? Seems like I've heard 3 or 4 different "sentences."

Well, on the flip side of the coin, no one has won. There is nothing to be happy about on either side in my book. Two people played dangerous games, lost their lives. No doubt, heeded sound counsel would have prevented any involvment, even from the beginning. The presumed murderer winds up in jail for the tax payer to foot the bill. So now, this guy does not even have to worry about shelter, or where his next meal is coming from. Those who want revenge will say "good for him" because perhaps they feel he will suffer. Maybe so, but I doubt it. Hopefully, there is some provision in this jail sentence that will give this man some type of needed community service so that he will at least make a contribution to his keep. As a student of social justice, it has been my experience to learn from many incarcerated persons that jail is for the lazy person. Many folk in the American system are so obsessed with seeing others suffer, and are so crazed by the act of being half cocked before considering the fullness of many matters until the sound judgment of in-depth observation seems to completely escape them. This is not to say that I am trying to defend what OJ did, because I am not. I just believe a lot of folk are talking who refused to see danger signs from the beginning and offer preventative counsel. Shalom.

I read he got 16 years just for the kidnapping, other charges bring the total up to 33 years but that with the probability of early release he could be out in 9 years. Evidently it is still not 100% clear exactly how much time he will be in prison.

Some people think they can get away with murder, and they do. But eventually what goes around comes around and OJ is finally where he belongs. But not for as long as she should be in jail.

It couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. I would imagine with his celebrity status he'll be kept segregated from the rest of the prison population for his safety. I hope the NV Pen isn't one of those that baby the inmates.

It is my understanding that he got a total of 33 years, and can be released and put on parole after 9 years for good behaviour. Also he will be segregated from the rest of the prison population, because of his celebrity status. Although I like many believe he got away with murder, one must remember that this is a separate crime, and what he did before weather the right sentence was handed down or not, should not be a part of the reasoning for the amount of his prison term. This is the way the system should work.

Even legal experts don't know what O.J. Simpson got...since the judge seems to have been to embarassed at this fiasco of a (retribution) trial. In actuality it's somewhere between 6 months to whatever. The Nevada justice system is a joke.

Kidnapping? Oivay...not even in Russia. This sentencing won't hold.

I think that he was stupid. He say that his lawyer was died why did he went and try to steal those sport memo. There are alot of person who wasn't glad when he came off the former case. The sad part in this story is his friend who will be going to prison as well. Person should use this as an example to teach their children about fame, murder and total wickedness.

What ever the sentence is, he won't serve more than half of the time. He's a player, knows how to play the system and will be on his best behavior. Of course what trouble can you get into when you are seperate from the general population due to your celebrity status. I think another reason for that seperation is that many of the inmates (just like most of America) still hold him responsible for the murders so many years ago.

My understanding is he got 15 years, total, and will be eligible for parole in 9 years. I think the 33 yrs and life that we've heard were the maximums he could have gotten for various charges, but he didn't get the max.
I can agree maybe the word hero shouldn't be used for sports figures. However, it is very true that way back OJ was very much admired, looked up to and well loved as a sports figure and so all the evil that came out later was a shock.
His is a sad, twisted, and awful story, for sure. I believe he probably has a mental disorder, but I would not know which one! I think he believes he is innocent, even of the murders. I don't mean in an insane way, but in a twisted logic/mental way -- still responsible and still knowing right from wrong, just twisting it in his mind to where he did nothing wrong, ever.
