Once, not so long ago,the whole world was dark and most of us have never experienced true darkness at all.We use the word darkness as a synonym for something that's bad,but it isn't.Darkness is good.Darkness is the soil out of which we grow and to which we return. It's the dark womb when we grow slowly, cell by cell.
True darkness is a refuge and a revelation. What's your thinking about darkness?

Thanks,William...you have right words to explain.Lovely.
However, your photo of light shines through it all as does your presense on this site.
Worth a TEN anytime.
Bhawana, I love the way you challenge us to give a voice to our individual thoughts on these truly wonderful insights!
Great thoughts, Alison.
Darkness is warm and forgiving and as large as you need it to be to cover, to hide, as the margins are never visible.
The Darkness is a safe place to examine wounds and to take stock of the injury away from others that cannot understand ,cannot fathom the private personal Hell .
It is a place where time will stop and even turn backwards if one believes strongly enough..the memories are more alive ;nearer to one to behold without the Light blurring .
It is a place one can safely weigh the Past and the Now but the Future requires Light.
Light to illuminate the path....
It is a place the face cannot be viewed ..even by the owner, once recognizable now a twisted mask of anguish. It is better not to see the pain better not to show it ..especially when others think the time for that level of Anguish should pass..it is so cruel for others to set the pain clock..
Darkness is important..it was a very important place in my life,once..when I lost my compass point..my genesis..when pain and guilt overwhelmed and I despised Light, Laughter and anything that signified going forward because I wished not to..I wanted to stay rooted in the past and in the fond memories of the One I lost..
I craved the Dark and the Peace I thought Darkness gave me..
Then I started to wither ..and turn on myself..just like a seed in a pot of soil closeted in the dark .. my growth stunted,I was turning into a shadow of me of what I should be..
I learned in the Dark that sacrifice of the essence to survive ,to prostrate myself on my imagined altar would not change the reality of the other half of the world.the Light half..
it would only bring more sadness and darkness to those that I still loved and loved me..
So I followed the Light out ..but I thank the Darkness for that time and the lesson that I was fortunate to learn for me to continue..
I pray you find your Peace in the Dark and the Path to Light
Dear Judi, thanks for your lovely words and thanks Elsie, your first line is so so true.
However, there is nothing like bathing in the glow of 'lightness'! I think light, especially being out in the natural sunshine, is beautiful, warm, energizing, positive and uplifting and very good for our overall well-being.
An interesting post, Bhawana. Thank you. And I love your bright purple top - eye-catching!
My late Samoyed Lexy and I used to walk our trails at night without a flashlight. Somehow we would find our way without disturbing the darkness with a flashlight or lantern.
John, that's a great example.I am humbled. Thanks everyone, Thanks Kathryn.
Oh Sue, that's nice comment.
Thanks for the video comments.
Without darkness you could never truly enjoy the light!!! (I look at dark and light they same way I look at the valleys and the mountains!! We must go through the valleys to enjoy the feeling of being on top of the mountain. If we were on top of the mountain all the time we would take it for granted...........if we were in light all the time we too would take that for granted! To have hope and faith....we must have both!
