I hear ya there but its ok vent all ya want.

Been there, done that over the years...hang in there hon!

Thank God for libraries. Been there, done that....well sort of. I spent the better part of 6 months holed up in The Second Cup because I didn't have the net at home. 4 channels? Our TV only had 1 till we got cable last week, so I KNOW you must be going absolutely crazy....especially without a phone. YARG! Things didn't get that bad here, we always had a phone, but my cellphone did get cut off for out-going calls because I had to use it to handle something long-distance, when I coudln't be at home that day, and that really ate my minutes.

Last month at this time before hubby got his first retirement payment, we were living on noodles, eggs, and bread.

Things are starting to shape up for us, and they are going to shape up for you eventually. It's good that you checked in and posted this from the library, so that I and other members of the community could come in, comment, give you a 10, and help you out. Thanks for posting this so we could all do that for you.

I'm contemplating shutting off my satellite service for awhile and I just called about switching from my cell phone service to a prepaid plan. I've already shut off my home phone and use Skype so I have to keep my internet service. It's only $19 anyway and I think I can keep paying that much.

Hopefully things will get better. Hang in there. If I have nothing to look at on TV I might actually get some books read!

Good luck! I've been there. No phone, 5 channels on t.v., no internet, no car, etc. Luckily I"m a book whore and love to read all the time to keep me busy. The no phone/internet thing was actually a good thing. I got some peace and quiet and didn't have anyone bugging me after 5pm. Plus there was the occassional surprise visit from a friend that would stop by out of the blue to make sure I was still alive :) Hang in there. Things will get better.

Please take a deep breathe and take one step at a time. I know easier said than done.
I can say we are in a similar situation as you. But we still have the internet. As hubby makes sure I have that because I communicate with members that lives in another state this way. Cuts way down on phone bill.

We don't have a couch (or any living funiture for that matter. I asked on freecycle for a couch and love seat. I was told by the moderate it was to much to ask for at this tuime of year. So it was deleted. Go figure) to sit on either. Nor do have a kitchen table or chairs. We sit on the floor to ear or in fold up camping chairs. Nor do we get as many tv channels as you. kids watch DVD's over and over. People wonder why we have such a large collection. This is why when times are tough we have something to watch. Food isn't what I need for my diet, but at least my family isn't starving. We had a cheapy dish tonight..tuna noodle cassarole.
No video games..but we do have th board game sorry I got free from a garage sale.

I totally understand what you mean. My husband and I are in the same boat, except our food stamps come in on the 7th instead. The thing is though, the food stamps don't go very far at all.
