I walked in the valley
I wept in solitude
Sobs wracking my body
Walking dead
Silent
Beseeching Him
Begging Him
Begging Somebody
Deliver me from
Carry me from
This crush
This web
This despair
I walk not in the valley
Now I am on the path
Still dark and looming
Yet it is breaking
Now light dares to peak
Through the leaves in the canopy
Streaming green, green of new life
Sweetness and love spill out
From the fingers, lips, and arms
Of those who came to answer
He sent them secretly to answer
To hear my cry from the depths
Skulking thick darkness
Threatens still
But my ransom has been paid
I have sweetness and light
Daring to hold my hand and run
Run with me out of the vile lie
Of the skulking dark

Blessings and best wishes - S.
Now I am on the path"
Awesome.
We are never alone, even inside our own psyches, but we have to pay a price to remain integrally ourselves--¨the ransom has been paid.¨Nice, acute lyric shifts in this terrifying trek from a forbidding valley to a path that leads through shadowy canopy into a suddden daylight ´freed from the skulking dark.¨
Careful word choice, psychodynamic threading through archetypal obstacles, anhd the will to find the succor one needs. A first rate poem about surviving fear and blackmail and coming out intact with dignity. My first read of yours, my lustrous Samantha, but certainly not my last.
I alawys like the way john, the master- mentor friend comments !!
Beautifully written poem to relate in life mundane of senses
- of ever-changing phenomena !!!
