Aliex and the Tree

The cats have been amazingly well behaved around the Christmas tree this year. At first, they batted at the low hanging ornaments, so we moved those. Aside from that, they've been leaving it alone. When they were attacking the ornaments before, though, we sprayed them with water to remind them to steer clear. They've been good overall, though.

Today, I cleared a spot under the tree to take a picture of the gift package I received today from Lisa E, and when I came back out from putting it away, I noticed Aliex lounging asleep under the tree. While taking these pictures, Rajik & Kirese were also napping so nicely!

What a good kitty! We are planning on putting our tree in a spot where our son can't to it this year! He isn't much of a listener yet :)
I think we went probably 3 years without a tree when the kids were little. We had one when Raegan was 1 & 2, then I was pregnant with Chris, and the townhouse was TINY. We had the tree up the first year in it, but it was SO tight to walk around, and Chris was almost 1 on his first Christmas, that we opted for a mini tree on a table instead. It was one of those 2 foot tall trees you used to be able to get at Walmart for $5. It wasn't until Gillian was born that I graduated up a bit- the Christmas she was born (she was actually born 2 days after Christmas), I used Christmas money from my FIL to buy a 3 foot Christmas Tree.

When Gilly was 4, we bought a pre-lit full size tree on Black Friday. It took us a few years, though, to go back to a full size because of the kids.

You're so lucky, I'm not even putting up my little tree because I'm afraid of what the kittens will do. I put up two artificial poinsettias by my fireplace and they've darn near destroyed them already. Very nice what you've done with the decorating.

my cats love to be under the christmas tree I do have to watch with my kitten though he thinks the ornamnents are toys for him

I think one thing that helped us, is we used some bitter apple and another training spray around the lower parts of the tree the night we put it up, and they just never really got into the habit of playing with it. My kitties look so cute! :) hehe

They are so sweet! Must be that they are looking forward to the gifts from 'Santa Claws' for being such good kitties!

Those are so cute, and you must have some very well behaved cats! I coudln't imagining combining a cat and a Christmas tree. In our house the tree would last about 3 seconds.
