My hubby, Ed, has a best friend with a boat. They frequently go out deep sea fishing in the Gulf. Usually, they do their fair share of catching, but on this trip, Ed caught a whopper.
The Kingfish were biting well. They said they had to throw back many of what they caught because they were not of legal size. But they managed to bag several "keepers."
Ed caught the biggest one (and a few others). After cleaning and fileting, we have so much Kingfish in the freezer, we will be eating fish for the next two months.
It's been a while since I went out to sea with them because it seems like whenever they go, I have to work the night before. I don't get home until around 8 am and they head out around 5 am. Someday soon, I hope to get a chance to go and will be able to show you MY pics of a great catch.
In the meantime, here are two pics of my hubby's whopper.

Thanks for posting to Whatever Floats Your Boat
You stopped in at my articles/photos and left a comment. Thanks!
As far as what Kingfish tastes like...FISH?? No seriously, it has a taste all it's own. How do you describe what Grouper or Snapper tastes like? It is good, that's all I can say.
And no, I don't think Ed purposely goes fishing when I have to work. It all depends on Brian's schedule. He has the boat, ya know!
of course, they think you should eat mor chikn.
