I'm thinking there's more than a few people on Gather who could use a good laugh. No, it won't make your troubles disappear, but it might just put a smile on your face for a few minutes and sometimes that's enough to lift your spirits. Didn't Readers Digest say that laughter is the best medicine?

Jim Gaffigan is one of my favorite comedians. He manages to be very funny without the use of profanity, insults, or sexual innuendo. This clip, courtesy of YouTube, is a funny bit from his "Beyond The Pale" Comedy Central Special in 2005. I've seen the entire special at least 5 times and I laugh every time. (Amazon is selling the DVD for $7.99- a great gift idea Amazon- Beyond The Pale)

Make sure you watch the end where he talks about fruitcake...

He is so funny. He did a funny thing about children's books and animal sounds. It was a clean joke & my daughter and I were rolling!
I hear him on Bob & Tom and he comes to Peoria quite often.
