You know, never bothered to renew, could care less if you are insured or uninsured, drink while at the wheel or on the phone not paying attention to what you should be doing ?
You wonder what the heck is she talking about, right ? I am talking about those stupid, who think they are clever, drivers without a license, a DWAL, that my local community police DOES nothing about. Even if the person has been arrested a few times for misdemeanors or something greater carrying a 'criminal charge', they still drive and work and go to the bank and anywhere they want spitting at the law and those of us who pay for our PRIVILEGE to drive.
I know about a dozen people right now in my surrounding neighborhood, Bedford, Oakwood Village, Beachwood, Solon and Euclid WHO DO NOT HAVE A LICENSE, suspended for a variety of reasons and have been arrested twice or more, but for repeat offenses HAVE NOT SERVED ANY TIME nor been disallowed to drive at all. None of them have seen jail or prison for whatever additional crime they committed besides no lic, no ins, alcohol in vehicle or drugs under the seat.
This is ABSURD !!! Is my city just another "we don't care about the drivers' kind of place ?"
Driving was never meant to be given as a 'right', it is a privilege and I am sick and tired of those who have not yet been stopped and thrown in the slammer !
So are you licensed, insured OR NOT ?

Local police has more important things to do than to keep people out of their cars. And I don't think driving is a privilege either, despite of what government wants you to believe :)

I do the right thing, at least until I forget, and drive around with expired inspection.
Also, I think that people who drive without their licenses when caught should get a felony offense and at least 5 years jail time 20 years if they are drunk or license was lost for a drinking related problem. I think we go way way way to easy on criminals!
