I got my Christmas present early this year. It's the best one I could possibly have received.
My son, Justin is 18 and graduated High School last June. He was not able to go to college this semester due to lack of funds. He has worn the soles off his shoes trying to find a job to pay for college, but to no avail. It's been distressing and depressing for both of us to think that another semester will go by without being able to finance college.
I am of the opinion that "everything happens for a reason". I had a feeling we would find out what the reason was that he could not land a job, and I was hoping we would find out soon.
My answer came in the mail yesterday. Justin received two grants that will totally pay for his college, books and all. I couldn't even write about it yesterday because every time I thought about it I welled up with tears of relief, joy and gratitude. He's very excited.
He's not going to college anyplace very special, it's "just" the local County College, but it was killing me to not be able to finance it for him. The reason he couldn't find a job, was so he could totally focus on school without having to worry about working to pay for it.
It's a Miracle for which I will be eternally grateful.

My son is 18 and his name is Justin.
Wow William - Quite a coincidence - I wonder what else we have in common
Life has miracles of such from family love and laughter.
My daughter is named Mary. My wife is Kayoko, which I rather doubt is your husband's name, but there is always such a possibility.
It will all come together the way it needs to and that is one very dedicated guy. You should be very proud.
I wish him and you both well.
Congrats to you and your son!
He is going to start out taking liberal arts courses, until he can find something to settle into.
