I was in our local dollar tree and I was looking around and I saw this little hispanic boy maybe 5 or 6 standing there and he was crying. So I asked him what was wrong and he said "Mommy" I knew right then he was lost so I told him come on and we will find his mommy.I took him to the register and told the cashier he was lost and that could she do something to find his mom. She got over the loud speaker and announced if anyone is missing their child he is at the front register and then she told them that he had on sponge bob slippers. Well next thing you know the manager came up and scolded her and said that is a no no. And then tried talking to the boy and he was crying more hystrically and saying "mommy" so I am trying to explain to her where I found him. And she acted as if she didnt care and pretty much snatch him away and kept trying to talk to him. What really upset me is first I never got a thank you from her. Only one customer said good job.The parents never thanked me either. Then I am upset at the fact that it took them awhile to realize he was even missing. And the store is not even big. And I saw the parents in the store with him again and the mom was way ahead and he was way behind like she didnt even care. That is why I guess some people do not want to do good deeds because it isnt appreciated at all.

I thought that was hilarious!
what an ungratful woman
I thought at first that they might have been in shock. Sometimes that is why people don't respond appropriately. But since you say the child was lagging behind later, it was more than likely simple ignorance.
Thank you. You never know the good you may have done. God may have sent you into that child's life for that moment. And like many things we do for the Lord, our reward may come later.
That was very nice of you to take the little boy up to the cashiers to get him some help.
You're right, I don't know how many would want to get involved anymore these days.
Good job Sonia!
Thanks for posting to Points Blitz!! Happy Holidays!!
I have seen people like you described. I honestly think some of them are hoping the kids get kidnapped so they have fewer mouths to feed and bodies to clothe.
You did do the right thing...and you should be poud of it.
Some people are just slow - maybe they were so rattled that they didn't think to thank you until it was too late.
So just know they now thank you from afar ...
Please don't take this the wrong way, but you should not expect a thank you for doing what you did. I am sure the mother had no idea. As the manager probably took all the credit.
As for a child being away from its mother. The mother could of been teaching the child a lesson. More than once my children have wandered off or not want to leave a spot when I was ready to. So, they get told I will leave you here. It took two or three time of me going around the corner out of my childs view to get them realize mom was kidding. They are 8, 10 and 17 yrs old and all knwo when mom moves. They had better follow.
I would never intentially leave my kids. But they didn't know that. So they learned a very vauable lesson.
Good job on your part though!
Thank you for carring and may God bless you.
But keep doing those good things
Mom should have been smacked in the head.
