Book Suggestion

I just finished another great book.  My only problem now is I don't know what book to look for next.  I wanted any suggestions that anybody had.  My only thing is that it has to be a book that I can find at the library, as I can't afford to go buy any.  I will read pretty much anything.  So, what suggestions do ya'll have?

I dont know there are so many good ones out there.... I like books about Hauntings and a good mystery...

I enjoyed the Twlight series....or the Women's Murder Club series by J. Patterson.

some of my favourite books: a canticle for leibowitz by walter m. miller, ender's game by orson scott card, the house of leaves by mark z. danielewski, phantom by susan kay, and american gods by neil gaiman - though pretty much anything by neil gaiman gets my stamp of approval

vickey - then you HAVE to read the house of leaves. it's a monster and it takes absolutely forever to get through, but what a book!

I am reading through Charlaine Harris's "Southern Vampire Series" which is what the HBO show True Blood is based on. I really enjoy these. Kay Hooper's Bishop series is great and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series is another great one.

If you like long books try, "Pillars of the Earth." Historical fiction that totaly engrossed me.

If you like Thrillers, I really liked The Quickie, by James Patterson.

stephanie plum is great. anything by Nora Roberts or J.D. Robb is always a good read. Also Danielle Steel has a new one called Sisters that was awesome!!!! I love to read too! :0)

My daughter and sister are big into the Twilight series... 4 books and the both loved them!! my daughter is 17 and a senior in high school and my sister is 37 with a masters degree... very different people and both loving the series.

The Pendragon series is a young adult series that is great.

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert or a little older book, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. You could try also Mitch Albom, The five people you meet in heaven or Tuesday's with Morrie.

I just finished reading a wonderful book called "Against Medical Advice". I think one of the Authors was James Patterson. It was a wonderful non-fiction book about a young boy who develops Tourettes syndrome. I'm not good at reviewing books but I will tell you that it was wonderful and I only put it down when I had to so I could sleep.

My library actually keeps a section of "chick" books with romance, mystery and women as lead characters - I always head right over there :)
The Secret Life Of Bees is beautiful storytelling about human charachter and life at its best. I highly, highly reccomend it =)

If you like stores about home & family ties, try Debbie Macomber. Or if you girl detective stories with a sense of humor try Janet Evanovich. Her Stephanie Plum series are a hoot.
Nicholas Sparks has some good novels in the lirary. Look for The Notebook. It was also a good movie. Hope this helps a litttle!

My daughter say the movie Twilight with her grandma, and then checked out the book from the library to read. On the way home from the library, she started reading it aloud. I was intrigued. One night last week after she was in bed, I started reading it. Yesterday she told me she was done with it and it could go back to the library. I told her no, I'm reading it now and I'm not done with it. She was impressed! Gone with the Wind is a great book-it fills in some blanks even if you've seen the movie. I often like to read a book after I've seen a movie. The 2nd Gone with the Wind book was good too-I think it was called Scarlett. The first 2/3rds of the movie that followed was good, but the last part they totally went of in a wierd direction that wasn't anything like the book and ruined it. I would like to see the movie reshot with the ending from the book. I've heard there is a new one out from Rhett's version (Scarlett's husband). I think it's called Rhett's people. I would like to read it someday-if I can get off Gather long enough. lol

My daughter read all the Twilight series and has seen the first movie. I couldn't get her to put them away to even sleep hardly and she wasn't reading much before that; except what she had to for school. lol
It really makes me happy to see her reading.

The "Mistress of the Art of Death" is an excellent read.

I've been looking around for another good book myself.

I'd say go for Dostoevsky 'Crime and punishment', 'The Karamazov brothers' or Tolstoy 'War and peace'. If American authors is your fancy go for Theodore Dreiser 'Sister Carey'. How about Hemingway, 'To whom the bell tolls' it's a great book. I do hope you'll find your way in the library. Oh, I have tons of books I can suggest!! I saw someone already mentioned the Twilight sereis. John Sandford's 'Prey' series is good and there's a ton of them. Janet Evanovich's 'Stephanie Plum' series is hysterical. Robert B. Parker has 3 great series to read. Kelley Armstrong has a "Women of the Underworld" series that is good. She also has free stuff on her website that you can read or print out. If you like vampires Mick Farren has a good series and Fred Saberhagen has a good series. Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels are good. If you like historical fiction Karen Harper has a great series based on Elizabeth I (who I am obsessed with! LOL). Christopher Paolini's Eragon series is good. Jean Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear series is good. Of course if you haven't read them there's always the Harry Potter series, the Lord of the Rings series, and the Narnia books. See! I have tons of suggestions! LOL
