Every single time I get my outside decorations up...we get this "Chicago" type wind and it turns everything I've done inside out. This year...I anticipated this and made allowances for the wind and for the most part...my decorations are holding their own. A few have toppled over and I'm not even going to attempt to do anything until the wind dies down. It's howling like something you would hear in a Steven King horror film.
We never get wind like this until the decorations go up. I wish I could just strangle the wind and make it die!!! Oh goodness me...

paying it forward!
Hopefully the wind dies down soon. It is really windy here too -- my friends and I were planning to play tennis this morning but it was so windy that we didn't.
For other reasons, I have learned to live without the outside lights on the house, bushes, trees maybe, but the house doesn't have to have them. Fours years ago this up coming January, my husband attempted to go on the roof to check for an ice jam and he fell off the ladder, only about 10 feet onto the deck, however, he landed on the ladder and shattered his left arm! When I helped him up, because he wouldn't allow be to call 911, he said "where's my arm?"!!!!! So, since then, I'm okay if we never have lights on our home again.
I'm not too keen on wind. :(
Here in southeastern Michigan it's snowing like crazy. I live on a dirt road that the county never plows.
