College Games:

The "Golden Egg Bowl"  --  Ole Miss -or- Mississippi State
The Gatherline - 7 for Ole Miss and just 2 for State
Talk about an "egg" bowl, Ole Miss pasted a big goose egg on Miss State!
Ole Miss 45  -  Mississippi State 0

Battle of the Golden Boot -- LSU Tigers -or- Arkansas Razorbacks
Gatherline - 3 for LSU - 5 for ARK and a whole of folks that don't watch or don't care.
If the game was as tight as the score, this had to have been good to watch!
Arkansas 31  -  LSU 30

Georgia -or- Georgia Tech
One of the oldest and longest college rivalries, in Georgia it's called "Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate"
Gatherline - 5 for University of Georgia, 4 for Georgia Tech, and ONE "frankly my dear I don't give a damn!"
Another close game (the best kind) as the Yellow Jackets sting the Bulldogs.
GA Tech 45 - UGA 42

Lone Star Showdown  --  Aggies -or- Longhorns
Gatherline - only 1 person was rooting for the Aggie, 8 for Longhorns
The Aggies didn't get any more respect on the field getting gored by the #2 ranked Longhorns.
Aggies 9 - Longhorns 49

The Turkey Day Classic --  Alabama State University -or- Tuskegee University
Gatherline - 6 for Alabama State and 3 for Tuskegee
In this annual battle of traditionally Black Colleges, Alabama State squeaked by their in-state rival with a last minute end-zone interception that ended Tuskegee 27 game winning streak.

NFL Games:

Detroit has the distinction of being the pro team that has played the most
Thanksgiving Day football games. The Lions have been hosting the Turkey
Bowl since back in the 1920's. This year they will line-up opposite the Titans.
Gatherline - 7 for Titans and 4 for Lions
Tennessee Titans 47 - Detroit Lions 10    

Since the mid 1960's Dallas became another perennial Turkey Day team.
This year they will play host to the Seattle Seahawks.
Gatherline -  4 for Seattle and 4 for Dallas
Seattle Seahawks 9 - Dallas Cowboys 34    

Battle of the Birds: Along with the traditional Thanksgiving Day Pro games, the NFL is again serving up a third game. This game features a whole lotta bird! The non-traditional, or maybe the neo-traditional, game will be contested by the Cardinals and Eagles.
Gatherline - None! for Arizona and 5 for Philadelphia
