OOB (Out of Bounds) Technique-Before and After Photos

Here's an example of what you can do with the OBB (Out of Bounds) Technique using PhotoShop Elements 6:

Original Photo taken in Barcleona, Spain




After using the OOB Techique and adding texture to the background


Once you get the technique mastered, it can be alot of fun seeing what you can come up with!  You can find an online Tutorial Here.  Give it a try!

Thanks, we're enjoying the interesting results with OOB. (box or bounds) Maybe that new group will concentrate more pix there. Not for me, no program.

Ashley, I'm not familiar with Paint Shop Pro, so I'm not sure. If you can work with layers and have a layer mask in your program, you should be able to.

I wish I could get this program and play with it. I enjoy all of these photos so much. I love to be creative like this and a lot of the photos I have seen so far would make great gifts for some people who love seeing my pictures. This tutorial is on the back burner for now, but I am hoping I can fit it into the budget somehow in the very near future.

I've enjoyed seeing how several of you have capitalized on this technique to come up with some fascinating images. Maybe next year I'll play around a little. The most I did with Elements was to remove a zit from a photo of the wife of a Naval Parachutist while on a reunion cruise.

I have photoshop thanks to my son Mark, but I just use it mostly for Gather, or eBay. I am going to look up your program, I tried to do one thing, and messed everything up and quickly hit undo, thank goodness for that button. I love how you guys all know how to do it. I have to resort to writing when I could be doctoring things up and having fun, I love how this picture you did looks, well done Sue.

Seems everywhere I've been venturing to latily, has ended up OOB! First was Photophatty 67, now you! A concept doesn't usally have to slap me across the face to make me sit up and take notice. But THIS time......{slap!} You see, I have Elements 6 also but (being a guy) I never picked up the directions!! I'll be reading Photoshop Elements (The Missing Manual) tonight. !! Thank you.

That is so cool. I need scan in all of my old photos and then delete the x out of them. That is, the ones I haven't already torn in half or burned. lol

Nanina, I have Photo Shop and you really need to have a lot of time on your hands to be able to figure out how to use it. I think these programs that everyone finds online like this one Sue has and Picassa are a lot easier to use - and free too!

Just stumbled across this post. I don't have any editing programs, except for Picasa 3 which doesn't do much unless it has some hidden buttons I haven't discovered yet.
