drenched in tears

and sodden fears

loathe him hateful

standing still

fisted hand

seething man

playing king

intentions wild

This is very strong. I don't know how anyone can just let someone keeping hurting him or her. But I know it happens and that the violence itself causes part of this. You've made a very strong sense of violence here. Good work.

Riveting....short lines that punch the reader. Having been a public school teacher for eons I have seen the "results" of such a relationship. In the beginning I wondered why anyone would allow themselves to be a punching bag....but through time and some reading, I understand.
