w that the holiday season is here, I’d like to share some tips for finding discounts and hard-to-find products without having a near nervous breakdown (because admit it, shopping for something like a Wii, Wii Fit, or those strangely popular Elmo Lives, is freakin stressful). Not all of us want to be bothered getting to stores at 4am on Black Friday. And those of us with full-time jobs can’t run to the mall every five seconds to see if the delivery truck has stopped by.
How to find the Wii Fit and other high-demand items
There are several tracking websites that utilize email and SMS messaging to let you know when you’re product is in stock anywhere on the internet, so you don’t have to subscribe to updates at each store’s website. I’ve had the best luck with Zoolert.com, NowInStock.com, and iTrackr.com.
Zoolert is one of the online tracking services out there. It lets you know when an item is in stock online (Best Buy, Amazon, etc.), so you don’t have to check. For example, select the Wii Fit or Wii to track, and leave the window open. The page automatically refreshes every two minutes and notifies you with sound of your choice when the item is in stock. They also have email and SMS notifications, and forums where people can discuss rumors and tips. There are even widgets that you can place on your blog or website.
Where to find good deals and coupons
Not willing to spend over $1,000 on a new flatscreen TV? Want to get free shipping on whatever you buy online? Not finding good deals in the weekly circulars? Here are some websites, some with user submitted deals that get updated frequently, that will make finding a great deal a lot easier.
