I have hinted to my wife a time or two that we should consider having separate beds; not bedrooms, just beds.
We share a bed now but as I have gotten older my girth has become slightly more 'worldly'. Plus she always ends up stealing all of the covers, plus we just appreciate different body temperatures. She likes lots of blankets, I like a few. She likes flannel sheets I prefer cotton. She prefer girly colors I prefer basic solids. It isn't about love and it isn't about not wanting to be with her or sleep with her. As for our marital relations I would never throw her out of my bed and she would never throw me out of hers, I just honestly believe that we would both sleep more comfortably if we had separate beds. I have read that 23% of married couples have separate beds but I don't know any of them, so here are the questions...
Do you and your SO share a bed ?(
SO = Significant Other)
Have you ever thought about having different beds?
Would you be mad if you SO suggested different beds?
Do you think it would effect your relationship if you did, and if so how?

I think it would put more distance between us emotionally if we had separate beds....but who knows until you try?

We view, and appreciate everything that comes through.
Look forward to seeing more from you, soon!
I have restless legs and my now ex-husband could not sleep with me...I did not blame him.
If I do not take my meds I average 75-events an hour....that is very disruptive to another person. Our bodies do not function if we are not getiing restful sleep. If you have a chance do a liitle research on circadian rhythms. Very interesting about our body clocks.
I am a lark, asleep early and up early. This is genetic.
Funny, now that I am divorced my RLS is much improved hmmmm
Being almost 6' tall, I take up a lot of space....not to mention that I'm not exactly skin and bones either. In addition, I'm a chronic insomniac so when I do sleep, I sleep hard and snore as well as toss and turn.
All I can truthfully tell you from my heart is....that whatever is decided BOTH of you have to be completely and totally ok with it and then there will be no problem at all. If one of you is even the least bit uncomfortable of unhappy with it then don't do it at the risk of ruining your relationship. Have you ever thought of a much bigger bed?
When I have stayed at my boyfriend's house, about halfway through the night he will get up and go sleep in the recliner--I snore, but he has sleep apnea and sleeps better on a slope. Or I will go sleep on the couch if his apnea/snoring keeps me awake--then he travels to the recliner and I migrate back to the bed....his cat generally sleeps with whoever stays put the longest.
I sleep so well. all through the night, but when Hubby comes, I get mashed, groped, pushed, too hot, too cold, and on and on, and by the time Hubby goes back to his town, I'm exhausted. He also snores horribly loudly.
It is nice to have coffee in bed, and snuggle, in the mornings, but through the night, we both need to rest well. I treasure, now, my alone time.
I found this great luxury natural mattress. We have separate beds due to snoring issues and its great being able to have exactly what I want.
