Today is Thanksgiving and it's my plan to spend it having a nice cozy meal with my household. This morning I was up about 5 a.m. I went to sleep early last night. I tidied a bit in the kitchen, and wrote two new articles on eHow and commented a bit on both Gather and eHow. I have a womping $2.81. I submitted 3 articles a month ago, abandoned the site, and just came back last week. Like Gather, you earn more if you're popular, so so far I think I'm doing okay for a newbie. I'm up to 10 articles total. I also have an assignment on gift cards to do for Associated Content over the next couple days.
I am making a whole chicken today instead of a turkey. I have not made one in years, but we have bought the whole prepared chicken from the grocery store a couple times lately, and we really like them. I should be much easier to handle than a big bird. I like turkey too, but since my daughter doesn't this is a good alternative. Pretty soon I will need to put some water on to boil to precook my yams. We are staying pretty traditional, aside from no turkey, and no pumpkin pie either. We're having apple crisp-- the easy version made with canned apple pie filling. I have no qualms with shortcuts.
I'm going to try and do a lot of the things I typically do on a day off. Get a little writing done, clean a bit. I'm not really up to "company" cleaning, but we can make things better for us. I'll get the kids up around 10. Get the stuffing ready, get the chicken in the oven by noon. We should be able to eat by 3. I can have my daughter take charge of the green bean casserole, maybe I'll make my son finish up the yams. And we have cranberries and potatoes-- which I think I will slow roast with the chicken.
Tonight we can have our apple crisp, and watch the Incredibles on TV and make popcorn. I (heart) my air popper. It would be cool if everything was clean by then. Tomorrow there are errands to run. Shopping is mostly online. (Thank Goodness-- crowds are not my thing.)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
