Am feeling quite a bit better today. Neck is no longer locked up in spasm - that makes a big difference.
Still pretty tight between shoulder blades, but since that was where I injured years ago when I had my first big car accident (that one was not my fault!), I suppose it is to be expected. And even that is not as bad as it was.
I tried managing without anything on my right hand - that was a no go... but now that I've wrapped it again, I am relatively functional. Even managed to pour my own coffee this morning!!! Ross made it for me but then he went out to do the snowblower thing, so had to find a way.
Went to school yesterday; Ross sat in on our class and on one of my seminars - next week he can sit in on both, but wanted to make sure it was okay with the one group that tends to be somewhat more shy than the other.
I've been excused from attending the TA meeting tomorrow which is a good thing... 5 hours of driving for 1 hour meeting seems excessive at the best of times - and Ross has a pest control job that he can't get to today cuz he's taking me to Barrie to the doctor's - I wasn't thinking at Emerg the other day - well, I was, actually ...but I was thinking about how much I hurted and how much inconvenience losing my licence was going to be not about getting a note re: needing accomodations re: school. So will ask my doc for that... also get him to document my owies - and see if he has any interest at all in helping me figure out the fainting thing so that I can get my licence back.
If not, will have to move on and find someone that will. I need to be able to drive. But I need to be able to stay conscious while I do it. Minor details :)
Anyway ... mostly, things are getting better.
And even though it's not Thanksgiving here in Canada, I have a lot to be thankful for.
- My family, who all care, and are willing to do whatever they can to help
- The fact that I lost control on a bend to the left instead of to the right and didn't hurt anybody. It could have been SO much worse.
- both universities and all of my profs being willing to allow whatever time I need to get things done
- my friends, especially here on Gather, who are all so supportive
- and especially Ross, who is willing to do whatever it takes so that I can get through this without losing my opportunity to do the grad school thing, even if that means hanging round motels and universities and driving all the time and listening to me whine
I am very blessed.
