In the early morning light
On the day of Thanks
I came upon a most unusual sight.

At first I thought it must be a dragon
Frolicking in the early morning mist
But on closer inspection, I discovered
my error....no dragon was this.

A dragon does not have tail feathers
Nor a red waddle hanging from it's chin
Nor does a dragon gobble as he wobbles
Through the Gather Connection glen.

Could it be our fair William,
The Birthday boy in disguise
Pretending he's a fierce dragon
So everyone will know he's wise.

And so with my Canon G9
I shot that damn turkey bird
And will serve him on a platter
This beautiful Thanksgiving morn.

Happy Birthday William Dotani!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY William!
Last Sunday morn (it was warmer then Saturday when I visited the Plantation), I went out to breakfast with my sister Fran. After a bite to eat, I decided I wanted to take some photos of Plymouth Harbour, the Rock and Massasoit. After accomplishing that we decided to ride out to Saquish, a peninsula that juts out into Plymouth Harbor. On our way we came upon this sculpture all decked out for Thanksgiving. Right away I knew what I wanted to do with it knowing dear William and the jokes about him being a turkey....and of course the fact that he was born on Thanksgiving Day in 1952. And so I did a photo shoot....and really had to contain myself cause I wanted to post it Sunday night. (Note to self: Restrain yourself, Bob... wait till Thanksgiving morn to post it.)
Dragons do frolick in the Land called Honah Lee with Magical poets and Caned Toads.
Featured in the Triple Name Song.
Bob, nice post.
Happy birthday William!
I listen to Puff the Magic Dragon all the time...or at least Sage's version of it. Thanks for the feature.
Do you mean the turkey or William we should invite to our feast?
Happy Thanksgiving.
gobble!Gobble, gobble.
Great photographs.
Happy birthday William.
As soon as I saw the dragon disguised as a turkey I thought of William!
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.
happy thanksgiving
Happy Birthday to William!
Happy Birthday, once again, William.
Hope you and your family have a wonderful day.
Lena is in the kitchen as I keyboard making wonderful things for our Thanksgiving Feast. Zach and I are just entertaining her as she busily prepares. We took her outside for a break so she could try her hand at the "Bullroarer" Magi sent in the mail this week. The Bullroarer was used to gather men for ceremonies.....Lena and I are hoping it will attract some rather nice lookin' men to our feast.
I did give her your regards....and she told me to tell you that she wishes "good eating" to you and yours this turkey day.
Happy birthday to William and Happy Thanksgiving to your family, Bob and thanks to Lena and her family for the food prep!
Happy Birthday dear William!
Happy Birthday William!!!
Perfectly turkely, Bob.
Happy birthday, Bill.
I really need to find out more about this sculpture. It's at a private home in Duxbury....behind it is an amazing stone wall with the word "Imagine" etched in the stone.
Tis the missing link! Lol
William is a fine dragon bird!
I just went to Duxbury Clipper, the small town newspaper for Duxbury and found several articles about Drago the Dragon. Seems he was sculptured by Chuck Nudd, owner of the property. Quite interesting to read.
Bob what a crazy find. Too cool. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Congrats on your Rainbow Connection win!
