Did anyone watch Barbara Walter's interview with Barack and Michelle Obama tonight? It was really good and I had quite a few chuckles in watching.
Barbara asked Obama at one point how his girls are adjusting to the idea of being in the White House. She made mention of how "Hail to the Chief" will be played at certain functions whenever he is introduced. Obama chuckled and said that he has tried to get Michelle to sing "Hail to the Chief" when he walks in the room, but she just won't do it. He said she won't even hum it. I was cracking up.
At another point during the interview, Walters asked Michelle a question and she wasin the middle of answering when Barack reached over and told her to hold on a moment because she has some lipstick on her teeth. And he proceeded to wipe the lipstick off her teeth with his finger. She said, "Barack...and I thought you were listening to my answer." He chuckled and told her that he was, but noticed the lipstick on her teeth.
The couple also stated that they plan on having their girls continue to do their chores such as make their beds and clean their rooms while in the White House. And Obama also said that he has talked to the girl about the importance of "scooping the poop" when they get their dog.
Obama talked about how Americans can help the economy by being more mindful of certain things like turning off lights, unplugging cell phone chargers and such. When Walters asked him if he was going to be turning off lights in the White House, he said that he does it now in his house, so he probably will in the White House too...because he wants to set a good example.
Walters asked Obama if he has given into his smoking temptation since elected. He admitted to falling off the wagon a couple of times during the campaign, but said that he has been doing his best to live a healthy lifestyle and be a good example for America.
The more I see the Obamas, the more I like them. They seem to me like a breath of fresh air for America. I see them both as being very caring and compassionate people who have a sense of what Americans who struggle are really going through. They seem to have a wonderful relationship and a good sense of humor too...and that can be so important in moments of stress.
Did anyone else see the interview?

Nora, you may not care for petty politics but you have to care for your country and that means caring for certain news connected with politics or in other words your country. I believe this not caring attitude helped some unscrupulous people in the govt., and in some business corporations. If people don't care for their country their govrnment might take them for a ride and you have seen it happen. Please, no offence is meant.
