Greetings from not so sunny Santa Barbara. Above me, are helicopters whirring around the Sycamore Creek area. Oh oh. Before any of you tell me that I am a magnet for natural disasters, let me assure you, it's purely coincidental. In the last four months, I've evacuated from two hurricanes, one fire and now possibly a mudslide.
We are below the burn area of the disasterous Santa Barbara Tea Fire. Now, the rains are falling and there is nothing to hold back the water. Parts of the Sycamore canyon are always prone to landslides. Now, after the fire. the heavy rains will flow on down to lower ground bringing with it lots of mud and huge boulders.
We are not as low as some places so hopefully, we won't have to evacuate. In the meantime, the husband is designing an ark. I'll have more details later. Salud
