Does anyone know what this is?

The other day I was out in my yard snapping pictures. I seen this plant but have no clue what it is, if it is poisonous, or anything about the plant. Not even its name. I don't even know how to take care of it. It is found at the side of my yard as a border. Its not in the neighbors yard at all. But it does prevent anyone from crossing over as thick as it is. Here are some pictures.

So, do you know what it is called or even how to take care of it? I would love to find more information about it.

It sure looks like a type of Aloe, it is a Succulant for sure.

I think it is pretty to. The fruit caught my eye the other day. I had oranges in my head as our are not completely ripped yet.

I just looked up and it is not Japanese plums. This plants leaves are different and fruit is smaller. But those are prettyy to.

I like succulants. But have only seen them in the different hen and chick varities...which I love.

It does look like aloe, but I don't think it produces fruit.

I have seen it and I am sure somewhere filed in the cobwebs of my brain there is a name for it. But right now - only cobwebs.

oh, I know not plums.....the green is too much like cacti...just noting the similarity..we have the plums in our yard, and isn't the season......hope you find out if edible or not

First thoughts here were Aloe also, not so sure though with the fruit shown.

Take a sample of the leaves and fruit to Home Depot or Lowes and see if they can identify it for you.

I have seen them somewhere before to. I thought possibly another member here on Gather had a bush of these. But for the life I can't remember where I did see them.

I was going to say Aloe, as well, because we have an Aloe Vera plant, but we've never seen it bear fruit.

it looks like an aloe plant but as far as I know they don't produce fruit :)

It appears to be in the aloe family. However, my brief search didn't turn up any images of aloe with berries quite like those.

Your local library may have plant identification guides that may prove useful.

I thought it looks like aloe but have never seen the fruits before. Aloe is great and every kitchen should have some. You open up the plant and you can put it on burns. We use aloe alot in florida on sunburns.

I can help but agree that I think it is some sort of Aloe. Good luck~
It almost looks like aloe, but they flower, not produce berrys. If you go to the
www.michiganbulb.com website, I bet you'll find it there. Good luck, I'd be interested to know what it is too.

Aloe has some four hundred types so its a good family to look in. No have never seen this one its great and a good reason for a post, thank you for putting this up and the great photos. Kew gardens

You might be able to find out from someone at the local plant nursery. Just print one of the photos and take it to them.

They grow wild here too. A succulent and the 'fruit' is all over the streets, racoons and possums eat it!
