The cost of prescription drugs is out of control. Presently, we have no health insurance. My children's pediatrician works with me, he charges me the same rate as the insurance company was paying him, and that is just fine by me. So I pay $35 a visit. Yes, I would rather pay NOTHING, like before, but at least he works with me. I also have a copy of the Walmarts $4 prescription list in their files, and whenever possible, he prescribes something off that list.
Over the summer I had to take my then 8 year old to the Emergency Room in the middle of the night. He was coughing and there was blood on his pillow. Enough to cause concern. Also some in his mouth. Okay, no insurance....spitting up blood. Time to go. I have to say that they treated me like a child abuser, they could not find the source of the blood. Anyway, that wasn't my original post. Sorry.
When we finally left there at 4 in the morning, I was given a prescription that I was told I absolutely had to go to Walgreens (open 24 hours) and give my child the 1st does of this anitibiotic as soon as I got home. So, being ever so diligent, I filled it for $153 and had him take it in the car with a milk I had bought also.
The next day I went on the Walmart site.....guess what? There was the drug on their $4 approved list! Loved to see that!
