OMG, I got a positive pregnancy test!

I'm due for my period on Friday, but couldn't wait to test.  I tested first thing this morning, and got a "yes+" on my First Response Gold.  Oh, I hope this is true!  John is out hunting, so I'll have to wait until tonight to show him, and I'll test at least one more time before telling anyone.  We've got all of our families coming over this weekend for our big Thanksgiving dinner, and it would be awesome if we could announce it then.


I'll post again when I retest in a couple of days.  I am afraid to believe it's true--we want another child so much!

By the way, a false positive is very rare with those tests.

YEah! Congratulations! Believe it honey if it says Positive then its usually right... I never tested twice and my last one was soooo faint.... But i knew it was a positive and well you have met Kairi :)

Congrats Tabitha. There's really no point in retesting. You're going to be wasting your money. The over the counter tests are just as sensitive as tests done in the doctors offices and even though false positives do occur, they are rare....unless you've had something weird going on with your cycle or taking hormones.

Congratulations! I've always heard that false negatives are not unusual, but false positives almost unheard of... I hope for your sake that this is true!

Congratulations Tabitha that is wonderful news. I agree with everyone else, if it positive it is positive. If it was negative, you would probably be safer retesting.

Boy have pg tests changed! Back in my day, you had to wait til 2 periods passed, then go to the doctor to have a test done and wait for a rabbit to die!!

I hope it's true for you, but going to the doctor would be better, i've had two home ones tell me I was pregnant when I wasn't...it was heartbreaking.
