My Husband Will Not Be Home This Christmas Eve

We just got a not-so-happy news that my husband is assigned to stand duty on Christmas Eve. So he cannot come home until the morning of Christmas Day.  It is really a bummer because his parents are making a special trip to come (a 12-hour drive) and spend Christmas with us, but now he can't be there.

That sucks, but it is also part of having a job like that. I also have to work Christmas Day until 2 PM. Fortunately my youngest is 19 and Christmas Morning isn't such a big deal anymore.

I actually chose to work so someone with younger kids at home had a chance to have Christmas Morning off.

We were in the military for many years, duty and deployments were difficult, but the home time was made special,,,,,no matter what time/day we had
