From what I've heard, you can still ping, you just have to slow down how you are pinging. They did it as a preventitive measure against all the spam pings that were going around (there were dozens of "people" sending out ad's for various sites like stock market advice and what not)

I got one or two "ad" pings that I know of. I really never got that into the pinging thing. I do try to return pings or occasionally will ping someone who I interact with a lot on the site.

Heck, slow down on pinging. First the ping needs to load quicker than what it does. I swear it acts like it is going to time out before it loads. I want the ping backs the first way you had it. Like I havesaid before..."It wasn't broke, so why fix it?"
