I know there are a lot of frugal moms out there that could really help me out and give me ideas... I have never been good at planning meals ahead and although I am trying to do the coupon thing it just does not seem to work for me...
I was wondering how many of you actually only shop for the month.. or how many times a month you do your main grocery shopping... I will only be getting my food money once a month and no it is not foodstamps...
I have my coupon stash that i have been collected the last few months and hope to keep adding to.. and i know as the stash grows bigger the amount of deals i find will be sweeter..
so, how do you get urself ready for that once a month shopping and know wihtout spending hours trying to figure out what you are going to buy?.. is there a program or even a website you can sign up for that you can choose meals for dinner you will have all month long and have it print out a shopping list for you?..
I could use suggestions and will take all suggestions to heart even if they seem a little out of reach...lol
I also have to mention i am diabetic .. so about 4 pasta dishes a month are truly allowed.. the wheat noodles are not much better either... so when helping me.. plz keep that in mind...

i will be getting wic as needed.. so yea milk is a weekly thing at least.. we can go through 2 gallons a week with 4 us in the house.. 3 of them kids... my kids have learned that once the snacks are gone.. they are gone for a long time... at leas a couple of weeks.. but now that its a month.. we will really have to be disciplined to not eat it all up at once.. but the kids and i never really had that problem.. it was my ex.. he could eat all snacks and not let kids even have a chance... it was horrible...
I wish you luck.
I do most of our shopping for household goods in bulk but budget for them monthly so that when I have to buy them the money is there because it wasn't used before. What I have found with coupons is that I buy stuff I don't need/ won't use but hey I got a good deal on it.. One thing to consider I don't know where you do a majority of your shopping but the stores off the beaten path ie Save A Lot etc may really help in stretching the food dollar. You have to decide if there are some brands that you absolutely must have and if there are others that you are willing to compromise on. I try to do the can goods and dry goods once monthly or so but the meats is more often because I am a "bargain shopper" and will buy what is on sale and save it for whatever occasion I had in mind when I bought it. For example James is a steak eater and when I can get them reduced significantly I will stick them in the freezer and voila I have a nice steak dinner at a reduced rate.... I hope this helps some ... Have a great day !!!! ~HUGS~ Ginny
