Okay guys and gals...  I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a neat contest and so here it goes.  Now...  In order for you to participate you must me a member of my "No Trolls Allowed" group.  So if you want to get in on this amazing contest...sign up at the link below:

Here is how the contest will work.  We are in the giving season where folks share their time, love, talent and gifts with loved ones and family members.  Before I mention the contest, I would like to address one thing.  I have gotten a few (not many) emails from some folks who are concerned that now that I have started this group...the trolls are going to stick their nasty head out and come at us with a vengence!  However, my take on this is this...if you let them place fear in you, then you will miss out on some great things that are happening within the boundries of Gatherland.  Not to mention getting to know some great friends to boot!

With that being said...if you don't want to participate in this contest...I totally understand and no one will make you feel like a heel over it...either.  If they do...let me know and I will hunt them down like a Gathering hound dog  and give them 50 lashes with a wet "Gather" noodle.  ROFL

Since I want this group to be a postive reinforcement for it's members; the first contest will be to share in just a few words what a particular Gather member of our group means to you.  Maybe share about how they are always encouraging you or sending you daily pings...etc.  Now...if you have someone in mind and they aren't a part of the group...tell them to sign up, so you can nominate them and they can participate too!

In the comments below...nominate one or more persons that means something to you and why they should win the contest and place those nominations in the comments below.  For each nomination...that Gather member will receive 1 point.  The Gather member with the most points at the end of the contest will win a neat prize, which I will mention in a moment.  And yes...you can nominate more than one person.

Now to make this contest more interesting...and you can help your nominees get 5 points per nomination instead of 1 point; since we are upon the Christmas holidays...anyone who wishes to go the extra step and email me a private message, asking for my mailing address and sends me on a 3 x 5 card their nominations, (telling me why they should win the contest) within a Christmas card...then I will place the Christmas card senders names in a bowl and at the end of the contest, draw a name from those whom I received a Christmas card from and they too will win the same prize!  Cool huh??? 

I wish I could send everyone a prize...but I just can't afford it.  But the point is...this is the spirit of giving and it's more blessed to give then receive anyway.  Now those who like getting Christmas cards as much as I do...will in turn get one back.  I think it would be kind of fun getting Christmas cards from our Gather friends with whom we will probably never get to meet.  (Most of us anyway.)  A couple of you have my address anyway...because of the contests I have entered and won myself.

Now the contest will go on until Christmas day.  I want to give those folks who want to participate time to get their Christmas cards to me.  During the week after Christmas, I will tally the points and then announce the winner and/or winners (those who send in Christmas cards) of the contest, along with the wonderful things other Gather members shared about them.  I will do a special "Winner Post" announcement!

Now the neat things is...this can be your way of giving a Christmas gift to a fellow Gather member who has meant a lot to you and you don't have to pay a cent to do it!  Yes...since they will get it after Christmas...it can be a belated Christmas list, but they will know that they are loved because of all the wonderful things you shared!

Now what is the prize you say???  Tell me!  Tell me Teresa!!!  I'm dieing to know!  Now you men can get involved, because I have seen many men who lilke this product too.  I am going to be sending out a 3 piece Tupperware storage set.  (See photo)  And yes...the Christmas card winner will get a set just like it!

The reason why I want others to read your nominations is so we can see the wonderful things we do for each other here on Gather.  Even if a Gather member did something special for you outside of Gather and they don't you mind sharing it...we would like to hear about that too!

Now...don't feel bad if you don't want to join in on the Christmas card contest too.  Your nominations will count.  It's just the Christmas card entrees will count as 5 points instead of 1 point.

Well...here it is folks!  That's it!  The contest starts right now and will end Christmas Day!  Happy nominations!

I nominate monicaharvey! She does wonderful photo essays and her children are so precious. Her daughter reminds me so much of my daughter. I think if she lived in the same town as I we would be fast friends.

I'm confused do we nominate someone every day or just one person and thats it. I'm so confused about this contest but wanted to pick monica as my first pick!

Shannon...please don't be confused. You don't have to nominate everyday if you don't want to. You can if you wish. You can nominate more than one person. The idea is to have fun with it and the one with the most nominations win and the ones who send nominations with a Christmas card will be thrown into a bowl and a winner will be picked! So I hope this helps and thanks for the nomination.

I'm not sure if she is a member of the group but I would like to nominate her anyway. My 2nd nomination is hazelnut75 (Beate B.). She had a contest up on gather to see who could guess her daughters name. I guessed correctly and won the contest. I'm always a little unfaithful believing that I will really get my prize but she followed through and I got my package in the mail soon after. I was so surprised at her generosity. It was a victoria secrets set of things and I love it! The price to ship this was on the box and it was MUCH more expensive then she could have possibly gotten point wise for doing her contest so this made me all the more surprised and over joyed. I forgot to send her a personal thank you somehow so this is it with a nomination for her as a wonderful gather friend:)

Okay I have a question, do we do the nominees on this thread only? Or do we created a new article and submit it to the group? All those who submit nominations via Christmas card on a 3 x 5 card will get 5 points instead of 1. And those who send a card, their names will be put into a hat for a drawing of the same prize.

My next nomination is lovelybluez (**AngelEyez** a.) She is going through a tough time right now. I think she is a great gather member who would enjoy winning something on gather as she doesnt win things very often. She wants to be a mother more then anything but things arent going well for her so hopefully things will work out in her favor soon.

I think I'm the only person doing the nomination but I really appreciate a lot of people on gather and want to make sure I try to recognize them! This next nomiation is for "Randee "The Court Jester of LaLa Land ! ! !" always and forever, I just want to celebrate (randee1)". He has a lot of coke contests and always keeps his word and sends the codes if we are the winners. He usually has 3 winners in his contests so it makes it really worth it to leave comments. Its so fun to. If I get a code that doesnt work he sends me another one to replace it:) People are giving him a hard time about his contests for some reason so I wanted to nominate him so he knows how much and I and I'm sure many others appreciate it.

This seems very sweet to me. It never hurts to let someone know how much that person has meant and how important he or she is to you. I think this is a good idea, and I do hope the trolls will go elsewhere.
