I want to send my book on tour and I need your help. I don't currently have the time or resources to go with my book on tour, so my "baby" will be heading out on it's own via the US mail. I plan to send one copy of the publisher's grade edition of No Sensible People to one lucky Gatherer in the Continental U.S., afterward that person would post some kind of review on Gather, or interview me if preferred. An Amazon review would be appreciated as well. It can be small -- we're not talking New York Times here, and send the book on to another Gatherer. Once the review is posted I can send another $5 to cover shipping costs to the next leg of the "tour." Participants will also get a PDF of the book, if they wish.
I'm working on some discussion questions as well for the book which I will publish privately. If anyone wants access to these, let me know, as they will contain spoilers.
Anyone interested in participating let me know, and we can work out the rest of the particulars.
The premise of No Sensible People is that Jennie's parents have died suddenly and tragically. Jennie is a conservative nine year old farm girl from the small Southern Minnesota town of Leifton. Her only available family to take her is her 26 year old aunt, Lucy, who lives in Minneapolis and hasn't been to Leifton since before Jennie was born. Lucy, by comparison has become quite liberal. The pairing of the two force issues to the surface that have been buried for a decade.
A preview of the publisher's edition is available here. The text is exactly the same as the retail edition available on Amazon.com, but the dimensions are slightly different, the paper is of a slightly lower grade, and it does not have an ISBN number like the Amazon version. The paperback of this edition is available via Lulu.com, it costs a little less, but does not have the free shipping option that Amazon does.

You get a book crossing number and members read it, go to the site, plug in the number, review it, and send it out again.
Good luck on your venture.
I did it with Forget Me Knots but it stalled out.
But since I already have connections on Gather, I'd prefer to do the mail book tour here. So if there is anyone willing to participate, please let me know.
Wanting something is not enough. You must hunger for it. Your motivation must be absolutely compelling in order to overcome the obstacles that will invariably come your way.
In the end, it is the person you become, not the things you have achieved, that is the most important.
