Back before Halloween, I found a cool strand of 10 lights at Goodwill, which are more likely than not vintage. I would guess they were from the mid to late 70's, but I could be wrong.
The lights have a flocked plastic poinsettias flower on each light, with the plastic 'flower' cups around the light as well. The flowers make it so the lights are pretty close together, leaving almost no space between flowers. They were only $.99, and I wasn't sure if they would work- I never found an outlet to test them with.
However, I figured for that price, I could replace the bulbs and the fuse if need be, and if that didn't work, the poinsettias parts were 100% removable and could be put on another strand of lights, or on the lights on the tree. They sat in the car for a few weeks, before I found them shoved under a seat.
To my delight, they worked as soon as I plugged them in! And, the strand fits perfectly in front of the TV. I did have to tape it down, the wire kept turning so that they wouldn't lay flat or face the same way, but with a few pieces of tape, it worked very nicely. I love the strand, it's so festive, and reminds me of things my Grandma had when I was little.
This first picture was taken without the flash turned on for the camera.

And this is what it looked like with the flash turned on.
