The Path

Life

 gives us paths.
journeys into the unknown.
and
you can't deny we are given choices... 

my path of you,
 started out
curvy with many ups and downs, twists and turns
and
DEAD ENDS...

and lessons were learned with every fall,
on rocks you placed in my path.
brushburned knees and elbows....
tears that fell quickly,
but I found that I am strong and determined and I furiously wiped them away!

I gave up sometimes, until prodded by him to continue...
to get up, brush myself off, give it another try,
keep walking...
even though it was most often uphill.

He kept coming back, kept telling me to move on.

There were times he left me alone,
seeming to me, not to care,
making me doubt my heart, my feelings, my truth.

You finally reach a place,
where the path ends and you turn..
and look back on the journey.

and you see everything,
the dark corners, the bright sunlight,
the trees
which sheltered me,
like a mother's love.

you have bruises and scabs, and yet you can see
the beauty of living,
of following your heart
on your path.

Follow your heart, trust in your soul,
turn your face to the sun....
and the storms.
