Page Views and Points??? .... Still confused....

I don't think we get points for viewing, only when our content is viewed..I really don't think anyone has a clue how this system works..I sure do not...Blessings~

All the answers are in Kevin's Crystal Ball and he ain't tellin' cause then we would ONLY do the stuff that gets US points! NOT knowing is half the fun of Gather! I am still trying to determine if ratings amount to a hill of beans except to just let somebody

I know that activity on the site generates points...and that it may vary at different times as to what activity brings the most points. Gather doesn't want us knowing exactly or we would only do one thing to get points. The more you put your name out there on the site, though...the more points you will get. You will receive more comments the more you comment yourself...and that is just a natural give and take.

Activity on the site will give you points, but commenting several times on one post won't give you extra points as far as I have experienced.

I've seen Kevin explain this:

You get no points for viewing or commenting. You might get points in the long run, however, because most (but not all) people will return comments.

If you post something, you will get points for someone viewing your post, and points for comments. Only three comments from one person "count", after that extra comments from one person are supurflous. Rating does not give anyone any points.

The amounts of points that views and comments generate changes. No one know the configuration.

Here's the odd thing though -- Gather has said that commenting never gives you points, but I knew someone here who did not post one thing, only commented on other's posts, and they had points.

So.......... make what you will of that.

I think both people get points when you view stuff. My husband has only posted like two things, and has received enough points to cash out, just from viewing other people's stuff. The things he's posted have just a few views, so it's definitely from viewing other people's stuff.
