I was sitting at the computer by the back door. Just typing away. When I heard my female miniature pinscher start barking lik ecrazy. It was a different bark than normal. So, I got up to check. I didn't see anyone or other animal. So, I called out my dog's name,"Daisy."
She came running towards me. But than turned and did a big circle. I thought this was odd. So, I kept watching. She ran back over to where she was when I called her. She bent down and grabbed something and tried to run with it. She tugged, dropped it and tugged some more. Finding able to run towards me while dragging something dark. She dropped it. Than ran back and picked it up.
I realized what it was. She had a snake as it was shedding its skin. I am not sure if she was helping it. Or trying to get it out of yard. But all she ended up with was part of the skin. I screamed at me teen saying the dog had a snake. He went to check to see if he could find the snake. he couldn't. But here is the skin.
How big do you think this skin really is? Can you tell by the skin what kind of snak eit is? I remember a week or two ago seeing one of those big Kig eastern snakes in the yard. I think I am going to make hubby trim the bush and banana trees this weekend. I don't like big snakes. Nor any I can't identify. Heck this snake looks big enough it could of ate my Daisy girl. As she weighs less than 10 pounds.
While I was outside with my camera. I decided to snap a picture of my orange tree. (Yes I figured it was oranges growing.) Here's a few picture. Some are not rip yet. But a few are starting to get rip.

My daughter was outside with me. So of course I snapped a picture of her. Here she is laughing. Yes a good moment to capture.
While I was taking her picture. I noticed the neighbors fruit tree. It has more rip oranges than mine. Ho hum, it looks like they will enjoy oranges this winter before we can. But don't think look yummy enough to eat or turn to juice already?

No I am not afraid of that. Why? My backyard is fenced in. If not, I am sure I would see one in my yard. I can't wait to see oen in my neighbors yard. Maybe it will eat that big black dog the neighbors allow to run at large and growl at people.
Love the orange tree, lucky you to have fresh oranges. I have a lime tree I keep in the house during the winter but it doesn't product but 3 or 4 fruits but they taste good in my Corona's. LOL
I would have screamed to
I am glad that your Dog is ok so
I think if that would have been my Gissi I really do not know what I would have done
I don't know squat about citrus trees, but that picture of your daughter sure is a keeper.
I have seen one snake so far. I think this was his skin and he was big. I am sure I am bound to either see him again or another like him. As my kids and I tend to be out side alot.
Love your fruit trees. My Granddad used to have lemon and lime and orange trees in his yard and they were gorgeous!
A ten I leave you~ To help you reach your Gather goal..
