Update on Jackie's garden - Photo Essay

It's no secret that I enjoy gardening, but my friend Jackie is just as passionate about her garden as I am. So whenever we meet for our football get-to-gether's to cheer on the Bucs - our Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team - we also like hanging out in the garden.
We share the bounty and trade plants.

Here's Jackie live - always pruning something.


 

This year hubby helped build a raised garden bed for the veggies, so now she doesn't have to bend down anymore, less strain on her back.

Clever - actually, I'd seen these border stones, but I never knew they stacked up too. 

Here is the veggie garden after a week........



... and here it is the second week - now she's talking about having cukes already - it's been 4 weeks since I saw it last. I'll have to take a shot this weekend.
Can't wait to see all the new things in her garden.

Jackie was inspired by my Secret Garden and decided she wanted a similar nook in her own garden.
I think it looks fabulous - don't you?


The purple candleholder hanging in the arch

is a little doodad I picked up for myself

and my garden friends on vacation in Germany.

I like the way it matches her purple flowers.














 

















A little garden jewelry among the orchids and plantings.
















One of the little anoles hung out on her garden arch - they are quite territorial and will stay in one part of the garden to sun themselves.

















This strange looking plant is a cactus variety. Jackie chose it because it looked like a hug:)
Weird, but cute somehow.
