The time is getting close for my next trip. I leave on December 10th & return on December 17th.
This trip (for work) will be to the Bahama's & Orlando. My company has 2 condo's in Orlando, so we will stay there while in Orlando
Here is our itinerary:
| Day 1 | Arrive late afternoon from home cities to our beautiful Orlando condos. Meet friends and prepare for your cruise and the theme parks! | |
| Day 2 | All day at Magic Kingdom. Watch the parades, shop, and get excited on the adventurous rides! Of course, you have to meet Mickey or Minnie, too! | |
| Day 3 | We'll choose another Disney World park: either EPCOT, or MGM Studios, or Animal Kingdom. | |
| Day 4 | Enjoy our pool, sauna, and whirlpool, or work out in our fitness center. In the afternoon our bus takes you to Hollywood, FL (Ft. Lauderdale area) to check into your hotel for an early departure tomorrow. | |
| Day 5 | Arrive at Port Everglades about 7 am and board your Discovery ship. Day sail to Lucaya/Freeport. Check into your resort hotel upon arrival in Freeport. Explore the surrounding area. | |
| Day 6 | All day in Freeport. Enjoy the beach activities, get your hair braided, shop in the market. | |
| Day 7 | Relax the morning on Grand Bahamas island, then board your cruise ship in the afternoon. Arrive back at Port Everglades about 9 pm. Our bus brings you back to our place in Orlando for your last night. | |
| Day 8 | Pack it up and say good-bye to all your new friends as you depart about early afternoon for home. Except we are changing to so we do the Bahama's portion 1st, and then Orlando This way we won't have to travel home so soon after arriving back from the Bahama's & be very tired. The only part that sucks is that I have so little money to spend. I guess I will just have to be more frugal, and earn more here on Gather! Have you ever been to Orlando or the Bahama's? |

I've been to both places. I obviously prefer the Bahamas over Orlando, but both places are great if you've never been. Where are you staying in the Bahamas? Freeport?
Enjoy your trip.
I have been to the Bahamas many times. This time of the year is beautiful in the Bahamas.
There are plenty of places to chop in the Bahamas, just check your prices the places near the Discovery Port area tend to be a bit higher. Don't forget to haggle with them, they love haggeling for prices.
Are you getting Park Hopper passes for WDW?
If so then Epcot would be good for the morning this way you'll be able to hear storytelling at the various countries in Epcot's World Showcase for morning & afternnon. For early evening-... I recommend a must see - "Disney Hollywood Studios" (MGM - name change). "Osborne Christmas Lights", (On New York Street) the lights flash in time to the Christmas Music.
Disney's Character Wharehouse/Premiere - is a "true" outlet for the Disney Theme Parks.
You can pick up tee shirts for as little as 1.99! I get my pins to trade from this store $2.99-$4.99. Disney christmas ornaments were $4.99!! All theme parks merchandise, (the store I was at had Toyko Disney Seas tee's, really nice for $4.99.)

I was lucky the boys had worked around the house for me and saved thier 50 dollars each and I had a cousin that lived near Orlando, we had free hotel at thier house and they hired baby sitter for Tracy. A lot of fun for all.
I think I liked it better that way. The electric light parade at night was my favorite. It was so beautiful. Maybe one day I will find the pictures.
(ohhhh...all those penny presses too....)
this sounds like a GREAT trip!
You will keep us informed of how you are doing while on vacation, won't you?
What kind of job is it? Tell us please!
I've been to both Disney World/Orlando and a Bahama Cruise. You'll love it.
Bobbi, the company I work for takes Adults with Devolpmental disabilities on vacations~
I hope you have a great time :)
I've not been to either place, but I am certainly not jealous or envious of you. I am rather EXCITED and happy for you. It's a wonderful thing, Girlfriend! Be sure to "bring the house down", and then some!
I do have a friend, who lives outside of D.C., and is from Trinidad, who has been trying to convince me to go back with him (to Trinidad) at the time of Carnival. It sounds alarming, though. I'm not sure I would be so wild!!! as all of that.
Still, I hope you are so totally engrossed in the MAGIC of the Bahamas, that America is but a dream to you. It's only too bad that your trip wasn't longer, huh?
Have a ball, Priscilla!
