Send Christmas Cards to Recovering Soldiers!!!!!

When you do your Christmas cards this year, take one card
and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone
sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful
special people who have sacrificed so much would get.
When you are making out your Christmas card list this
year, please include the following:


 A Recovering American Soldier

That is a great idea. I will pass it alone to the churches in the area and they can have their young men and women do them for a Christmas project. Thanks.

NO NO NO DO NOT SEND THEM!

Walter Reed does not accept them. This is an old emal going around from last year. I personally called Walter Reed last year because I had other things to donate and they said they do not accept the cards. You can also check snopes

There is a new program this year through the red cross called "Holiday Mail For Heros" that you can send them to.

Ok I found it. The address is actually in the area my husband works so for us we can drop them off.

Hi Krissy either way I will try to send cards out to the Soldiers. My son,uncles, brothers, your uncle Donald all were in wars. I am sure a card would have made them feel so good.

Thanks, Chris E for correcting the information. Thanks for finding the web site about the red cross. A good idea though Krissy. I guess there aren't enough people on base to handle the potential flood of letters and cards to distribute to wounded soldiers.

We have volunteers at the hospital where I work, but things might be more complicated with military bases which house medical units.

Great idea.
Great idea and do any of you know if we can still send cards and things overseas to soldiers there? We used to do that back with the first Iraq mess, and we also were allowed to send gift baskets and such. Since I make lots of things, I sent a lot of it over there, with a starting point of over 100 cards - with letters. It was an APO address, I believe.

I like that ideal. My family and friends have started buying balls, shaving stuff, after shave to send this year for Christmas. If you contact a base they may take the cards over when they take a shipment overseas for free. You have to talk to a base commander.
