OMG, I am sooo completely peeved right now at my neighbor. She is the rudest snobbiest person, that I have possibly EVER met in my life.
It is a good thing hubby is home today or I would have totally lost it on her a bit ago when she came banging on my door like she was about to break it down, like she was the police or something...
So anyways here is the story. We have an Australian Shepherd. They have 2 Papillons (spelling may be wrong). They only let their dogs out a few times a day to go to the bathroom but when they do all those things do is yap, yap, yap, yap, yap.....
So their dogs have been now and forever given the name yappillons by me and hubby.
I have known people to have Papillons before and I have nothing against the breed. In fact my sister in law and her fiance have one and he is a great dog. He has never acted this way when I have been around him. They are cute dogs and I don't mind them as a breed I just mind my neighbors dogs. I wouldn't even mind them that much if it weren't for the fact that the neighbor seems to think that SHE owns the block so if our dog barks it is a HUGE sin and if her dogs bark it is allright in her eyes I suppose.
Now I will say that about 2 months ago we left Sue out in the yard all weekend like we had done several times before. We got home to a NASTY note on our door saying she barked nonstop the whole weekend and had done so every single other weekend we had left her out. Come to find out when hubby talked to them about it she barked for a couple of hours real early on that Sunday morning, but that was the first time she had done it, our neighbor just way exagerated things in her note. We felt bad about it and she has never ever been a problem like that before. We later found out that it was becuase another dog down the road got let out and had been barking nonstop so our dog was just barking back. We ordered a bark collar and had to wait for it to come. Then it ended up coming without a battery so we weren't able to use it yet at the time, but told them to please let us know if she is a problem again. Nothing till 3 weekends later (and we had been gone every weekend in between) it happened again, same reason, another dog in the neighborhood got let out and wouldnt' stop barking so Sue was just barking back. It was on Sunday again and only for a couple of hours. Not that I am saying this makes it ok, it doesn't at all but like I said we figured maybe it was just a one time thing and were hoping it wasn't going to happen again since we had NEVER had a problem before and we have had her 5yrs.. But once again we got an even ruder, nastier letter threatening us, and saying how we didn't even give SUe food or water, well she had both, but they would have had to be in our backyard to see it because or our garage being in the way and it was on the other side of the garage. She even stated that Sue had barked every single weekend nonstop since the last complaint, even though they told us they would let us know if there were any more problems. Once again, hubby talked to the neighbor, just the husband once again the note was quite an exageration. It had just been a couple hours Sunday morning again.
So I understand that at night it isn't cool so we have taken Sue with us now if we go anywhere, but this morning she was barking because we had someone that came over to look at our dining room table since FIL is bringing us thier old one next week. Well it was 10am and she comes banging on our door and it sounded like she was about to break the thing down she banged sooo hard. Our dog had barked for maybe 3 minutes tops as the guy had just walked in the door when she started banging on our other door. She said we better get our dog in right now because she was barking and they were trying to sleep. Her husband works second shift and gets home by 10pm every night. Then they let those dogs out between 10:15 and 10:30pm every night for about 15 min and they bark the whole time often waking Madeline up. They also let them out at 7:30 every morning, so if we are not yet awake, we wake up when those dogs go out, because like I mentioned before all they do is YAP YAP YAP... the whole time they are outside. But she has the nerve to come tell me at 10am that I need to get my dog to stop barking... Those 2 times are not the only times they let those dogs out, they do it atleast 1 other time too, usually in the afternoon before he goes to work but I was making the point that she is going to complain about 10am, when they let theirs out even earlier every morning, and late at night too.
Ohhh, I am so mad right now and she is just lucky that David is the one that answered that door and not me. I almost just called her because I have the nasty note she wrote and it has her # on it. But he told me not to do it.
I added the parts about our dog too, just so that you all know I am not trying to make this all one sided, but let you all know the whole story. But we have done what we could to prevent our dog from being a nuisance, and I'm sorry but just because she was barking for a couple of minutes today, and because there was a stranger outside, which is what she is there for, to bark at strangers.... our neighbor thinks she is so much better than us that she has the right to come over and speak to us in the manner she did, and to bang on our door like she did.
So anyways if you got thru this, thanks for reading. I had to rant and get it out before I ended up going to bang till I knocked her door down and then let her know how I am feeling.... I do still want to do that but I will refrain for now.

I'd do it EVERY night hahahaha.
I agree with Melanie..
Be watchful and make sure your neighbor can't get into your backyard at all! Mine has even cut the lock off my gate and taken my dog into her home to "visit" and I can't prove a thing!
ALSO I am sorry you have such nasty neighbors. We are very blessed to have good ones!
Sorry this happened. It sucks when you have bad neighbors
