I just thought it was interesting that Turkey is working with the US and Russia miltarily. I feel like there is an opportunity for some stability in this region if cooperation continues. Turkey has already offered to be a bridge to discussions with Iran. They could help us bridge relations with Russia also, which would be crucial in implementing any sort of pressure on Iran. Or am I completely off base here
Russia, Turkey discuss military co-operation

ANKARA, Turkey -- Russian Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov visited the headquarters of the Turkish Military Academy in Ankara on Wednesday (November 19th), part of a two-day visit to Turkey. The Academy provides training and education for officers serving in operative and strategic units. A total of 800 people currently study there, including around 60 foreigners from 23 countries. On Tuesday, Serdyukov met in Ankara with Turkish counterpart Vecdi Gonul. Speaking to reporters later, Gonul said Turkey intends to work jointly with Russia on a series of military and technical projects. Turkey, United States and Iraq to create joint anti-PKK committee

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- The United States, Iraq and Turkey agreed on Wednesday (November 19th) to establish a joint committee to fight members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Iraqi Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani hosted a meeting in Baghdad attended by Turkish counterpart Besir Atalay, US Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker and the commander of US forces in Iraq, General Ray Odierno.
Meanwhile, three Turkish soldiers and four Kurdish militants died in two separate clashes in southeast Turkey on Wednesday and Thursday. Four militants and two troops died in gun battles between security forces and PKK members in the Diyarbakir province.
