It all began when I was working at the truck stop, two truck drivers came in with a not so strange question. Evidently, one of their company drivers had a heart attack at some point the week before. The dispatcher could only tell them that the truck they were supposed to pick up was at a truck stop somewhere in my general area. So they wanted to know if it was outside, in our parking lot somewhere. I honestly had no clue, I hadn't heard of a loitering truck, and the older man who cleans the lot in the morning, usually gripes about trucks sitting in one spot if they're there for more than a day. But it could have slipped his sight, so I had the boy who was doing night maitnence at the time go outside and check, the two drivers went with him. We didn't have a very big parking lot, so it didn't take them very long to discover it wasn't out there.

The two men had already been driving all day, and well into the night. They were on a wild goose chase, and I knew it was going to be difficult for them. They were so tired, I could see it in their eyes even though neither one of them complained. Not wanting them to have to hit all the local truck stops, I dig out our phonebook, and get on the telephone. I start by calling the Sheetz across the road, because it's set up for trucks as well as cars, and they do have an entire parking lot dedicated to trucks staying there- though typically only for an hour and no more. No luck, the truck wasn't there either. So I called the bigger truck stops up and down the road. Some took an hour to get back to me, I guess their parking lots were a lot bigger than ours. There was no luck there either, then there was one that just wouldn't answer their phone. Turns out they're closed at night, go figure- I mean honestly what kind of truck stop closes at night? Anyways!

There was one other stop in the phonebook. But they were a tiny little store, more for cars than anything- and only had one hour parking. I was desperate enough to try though. So I give them a ring, and a male voice picks up the phone. I explain the situation to him, all the while thinking whoa does this guy have a great voice. He says he isn't sure and wants me to talk to his manager. So the phone is handed off and I talk to the other guy. They go outside and look, and the truck isn't there either. Since I called every truck stop within a two hour ride from us and it wasn't at any of them. I told the drivers that their best bet would be to travel to the one that didn't answer the phone. They did, and came back later that morning to tell me that they had indeed found the truck there. And they couldn't stop thanking me enough.

Now, what I didn't realize during all of this... My boss owns the little store I called that the two guys talked to me at. And his sister had been talking to the one guy about me. Apparently, out of the blue she told him that there was a nice young girl working down at the truck stop that he should meet, named Dawn. I didn't know any of this, and wouldn't find out about it for a few more weeks. However, when I called them- I had explained who I was, and where I worked. Thus, they knew my name, and etc. Later on Terry, told me that when he and the other guy ( Who I found out later was his cousin, Shannon ) got off the phone, they just looked at each other. And Shannon was the first to say ' I wonder if that's the Dawn that Nuna was talking about. ' To which Terry's response was ' I don't know, but I sure as hell hope so. ' And Shannon responded with a ' No kidding, she's got a great voice. '

Remember at this point, I'm still in the dark and do not know a thing about Terry, or anything that Nuna had been talking to him about me, behind my back. Be on the look out for " As Love Blossoms: Part Two "
