A lot of people have heard about the fact you can now buy votes on sites like Digg in order to get your site or content in front of thousands (or millions) of people, though many people are still having trouble finding a place online where you can get them. In this short Gather post, I'll be sharing with you my experiences with buying Diggs votes and where I'd recommend you go to get them.
Firstly, I will say that a lot of people frown on the prospect of buying votes for these sites, though if you're a smart marketer, you'll know that the benefits far outweigh the negative social stigma that's behind it. For example, I purchased a package of 200 votes from paid voting site uSocial.net recently which is worth $170 (I think the price has actually gone up now though) and even without considering the sales I made of an ebook due to the 80-odd-thousand people I got to my site in the first day, I made an additional $900 just in Adsense revenue -- which on its own more than paid for my investment, and then some.
The three biggest companies who sell Digg votes are uSocial.net (who I've already mentioned), User/Submitter (who I think have actually gone out of business because for the last 6 months have said they're not taking orders due to being "too busy") and Subvert & Profit.
I've used all three and my experiences are quite different. Subvert & Profit was the first I'd ever heard about and were by far the most expensive, charging $1.50 per vote, regardless of how many were purchased. Not only this, but of the 100 votes I bought, less than 50 were delivered.
I used User/Submitter a long time ago and as I've mentioned, I actually think they've gone out of business because for as long as I can remember over the last few months, they have a statement on their ordering page stating they aren't taking orders due to being too busy, though I've never seen this go away at any point, meaning I don't think they're taking orders at all from now on. Period.
Lastly, uSocial is the newest company offering the service and they're the cheapest at around $1 per digg with discounts if you buy more. I was lucky enough to get a package of their votes while they were in testing (which meant they were free), but as I mentioned I got over 80,000 visitors in just the first day. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Whatever you decide to do regarding paid digg voting, the choice is ultimately yours. Though if you are one of those who thinks it's a "naughty" practice, keep in mind that your competitors who do use the services of one of these companies will leave you in the dust.
Your choice!
