Step Back
I do not have anything left to say,
you don't really listen when I do speak.
You shift my words around,
change my meaning,
distort the feeling behind my words.
When I try to communicate how I feel
you filter my words through a
mental strainer.
What is there left to do?
It breaks my heart that you
cannot seem to comprehend.
I believe myself to be clear, and
concise, I believe myself to have
a good command of the English language.
I guess I misunderstood,
the nature of our relationship,
the nature of who we are,
who you are.
I step back.

Love and blessings - S.
Sometimes all you can do is step back and let the other person make the next move. Maybe the high price of losing someone in their life will motivate them to rethink their behavior and figure out why they push people away.
A ten I leave you~ To help you reach your Gather goal..
This was very well-penned and one that all of us can relate to. Who hasn't had a relationship where there has been a communication or emotional break?

Beautiful photo and that last line is a zinger!
I really wasn't trying to be funny; I thought it sad until their eyes popped into my mind ... the eyes of their ears...and they couldn't see :)
Happy New Year ms Chana and a wonderful 2009. I'll be serious next time I read a serious poem.
